Santa Maria Novella’s Iris fragrance is a bouquet of earthy floral notes. The iris is referred to as “Shu-tu-wu” or “from the heavens”, in ancient manuscripts kept in a Tibetan monastery. Of ancient Asiatic origin, it grows wild in hills of Tuscany and is so common that it became the symbol of the city of Florence. In Greek mythology, the goddess Iris was a messenger who bore good news on the rainbow. In flower symbolism the iris represents majestic beauty.

Top notes: Bergamot, Jasmine, Lemon, Ylang ylang

Heart notes: Rose, Mimosa, Neroli, Violet leaf

Base notes: Iris, Oakmoss, Amber, Hay, Civet
